Charlie grabs a hat-trick Dennis North has kindly filed this report of last night's reserve game.

A determined reserves side settled quickly into this game.

The first goal came on nine minutes as Matt Ellis delivered a trademark cross from wide left for Joe McNerney to head home. A minute later Matt Powell scored with a delightful volley from a Charlie Moone cross. Then on 23 minutes a long clearance from keeper Matt Pegler found poacher Charlie Moone (pictured) rounding the keeper for goal number three, a feat he repeated on 35 minutes for goal number four after Joe McNerney had cleverly put him through. Just before half-time the favour was returned as this time Charlie Moone provided the assist for Joe McNerney, who confidently fired the ball home to put Woking 5-0 up.

The second period was only 8 minutes old when some smart work from Jerome Maledon and Charlie Turnball gave Charlie Moone, by now playing in midfield, the opportunity to score his hat-trick with a powerful drive from 20 yards out. Then midway through the second period Jerome Maledon drove at the Horsham defence and slipped the ball to Anson Cousins, who rounded off the scoring with goal number seven.

A pleasing performance all round with some quality goals and a particularly resolute performance from the defensive line up of Pegler in goal plus Boateng, Miller, Sintim and Ellis, all under the watchful eye of Graham Baker in the stands.

Next game for the reserves is this Saturday 29th at home to Crowborough Athletic - ko 3.00pm.

Squad: Matt Pegler, Matt Ellis, Daniel Sintim, Gavin Miller, Michael Boateng, Matt Powell, Jerome Maledon, Charlie Turnball, Ramon Whorms, Charlie Moone, Joe McNerney.
