Havant and Waterlooville 1 Woking 1
26 December 2009
Woking ended up with only nine men at the end of a dramatic second half.
Woking fell behind in the 36th minute when ex-Card Ian Simpemba crashed the ball home after the defence had failed to clear a free-kick into the box.
The omens looked poor when the Cards were reduced to ten men, with Jamie Hand’s dismissal in the 58th minute. But seven minutes later Tony Sinclair was brought down in the Havant box. Gez Sole (pictured) sent former Woking Academy keeper, Aaron Howe, the wrong way from the penalty spot to make it 1-1.
In spite of being a man short, the Cards pressed hard for the winner, with Medley going close and Sole hitting a post. Two minutes from the end Woking were reduced to nine men when substitute Nathaniel Pinney was sent off.
P.S. Don’t forget that the Cards are at home to Weston-super-Mare on Monday afternoon, when reduced admission prices apply.
