Reserves Score Five Woking 5 Eastleigh 2
Suburban Football League Premier Division
Saturday 16th October 2010

The Woking youngsters took the game to Eastleigh right from the start, winning a penalty in the first minute; the keeper saved the spot kick from Sean Bradley but,
encouragingly, Woking went on to carve out the lion's share of possession and territorial advantage as well as creating numerous chances in the first half but disappointingly conspired to come in at half time losing 2-1, Josh Watkins notching up the Woking goal.

The lads came out for the second period with a fresh determination and with seven minutes gone a neat pass from Ollie Palmer found Josh Watkins, who drilled the ball into the bottom right corner to bring the teams level. Some 12 minutes later the same combination led to another goal for Josh Watkins as he calmly grabbed his hat-trick.

Now 3-2 up Woking continued to batter the Eastleigh defence and just a couple of minutes later Rob Carr scored a contender for goal of the season: with the ball dropping into the Eastleigh box but still some 12 yards wide left of the Eastleigh goal, Rob showed great technique to strike the ball waist high and slightly to his left - his exquisite volley rifled into the top right corner of the goal.

Woking had not finished and with 8 minutes remaining hard-working Ollie Palmer, driving towards goal from wide right, coolly passed the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the Eastleigh net with the outside of his right boot.

A commanding second-half performance from these Woking youngsters. Whilst Gough and debutant Hayles caught the eye in defence, it was Watkins, Carr and Palmer up front who get in the frame for the 'man of the match'. Palmer with two assists and a goal, Carr looking like he is getting back to his best with a fabulous goal, but it is Josh Watkins who must get the nod for his clinical hat-trick.

MOTM: Josh Watkins.

Squad: Aaron McGuigan, Stefon Hayles, Callum Eagle, Aaron Gough, Sam Charles, Rob Carr, Tom Topham, Jack Blatchford, Sean Bradley, Josh Watkins, Ollie Palmer.

Subs used: Chris Richards, Josh Griffiths, Alfred Ajani.
