There were 12 teams from across the South of England in each age group and following a league system there were play-offs involving the sides that finished highest in the leagues, culminating in finals.
It was a sunny (but windy) day and the matches were played with a lighter ball than most players are used to. Running on dry sand is really difficult and, of course, the usual styles of football were needed to be adapted considerably to this new and challenging environment! We entered this tournament with no expectations other than to have some fun on the beach with a football!
The players played many matches and worked extremely hard in a tournament that lasted all day. They all performed magnificently throughout the day and were an absolute credit to everyone involved with them.
All three of the teams emerged victorious winning their respective competitions!
