15th January 2008

On Saturday (12 January) we were delighted to welcome Darrall Macqueen Ltd, Independent Production Company of the Year ? Children's BAFTAs 2006, to Kingfield to film what will ultimately be a pilot programme commissioned by Children?s BBC.

It was a hugely successful day and we were delighted that Woking Football Club was able to play a part in assisting Darrall Macqueen Ltd for Children?s BBC.

Three toddlers and their parents, along with film and production crew, came to Kingfield, during which time the toddlers were filmed having a kick-about on the pitch and running out of the tunnel, while the parents were also filmed as the toddlers compete in their usual match. Shots were also taken during the game of the crowd, the dugouts and substitutes, managers and coaches as well as segments of the match itself.

The whole concept was to make a 7 minute non-transmittable pilot of a programme entitled ?You are Kidding? with the potential of commissioning a full series. The pilot is to demonstrate ?proof of concept?.

?You are Kidding? is a comedy sketch show for children featuring toddlers and the vocal talents of Phil Cornwell, Marcus Brigstocke and Morwenna Banks. The pilot consists of approximately 5 sketches, one of which features the remarkable abilities (or not) of toddlers to compete with adults in a competitive football match. Images from all of the pieces of filming will be merged so it appears that the toddlers are playing alongside the adults.

Many thanks to everyone who made the day possible and we hope that the pilot is successful in securing a fully commissioned series.
