Interviews by Flakey
15/05/08 |
Why are we holding interviews for our managers job in London?? Why not at Kingfield or if our ground isnt good enough, then why not in a hotel in Woking, surely it cant be that much top secret to hold it 30+ miles away, seems to be a waste of money, thats if they are actually taking place. Based on the secrecy it wouldnt suprise me if these are actaully happening as its a toss-up between Justin Edinburgh and Steve King, Just seems to be a big publicity stunt. |

Reply:
A little bit controversial there Flakey! I would imagine the interviews are being held in London for many reasons - one of the main ones being confidentiality to ensure all candidates are given a fair chance, rather than the press see faces coming and going from Kingfield and begin all sorts of speculation. Also it is obviously a fair venue for everyone to get to relatively easily. And I would also say it allows the Chairman and Colin to 'detach' themselves from the club so that they can concentrate on the interviews away from the club environment. Seems a much fairer process all round I think. As for the bit about the choice being between only two candidates, well that's pure speculation and I'm sure the Chairman is 100% true to his word in making this a thorough and fair interview process between a shortlist of more than just two. |

New manager - John Schofield by Mike Thompson
14/05/08 |
I am not sure weather this is nor not but i have heard that John Schofield is set to become the new manager of Woking. He has been called in for an interview and think this would be a very very popular choice. If David Taylor reads this then lsiten to the fans, alot of them want John Schofield as the next manager. Run a poll on a local newspaper website and then youd get an indication of how popular he is! |

It is all very confidential at the moment so can't comment on John Schofield I'm afraid |

Frank, can I have whatever you are on? Damian Batt and a good loan spell? Did you actually see him play? |

Mixed opinions about Damian Batt, but the fact that he was not retained by Colin speaks for itself |

Sadie by MBT

Whilst I understand that this isnt a chat up service. If there is any good that comes out of Sadie being made redundant I am all for it. -) I cannot vouch for Steven 8-)
One could easily make the case that happy (well less upset) people makes for a happier individual and therefore club !!
Can I echo Hanas comments I really WILL miss you in the sponsors lounge. I really hope they know what they are doing by letting you go !!
All the best - MBT
ps. you have mail |

Thanks Mark - will miss you too. These things happen in life and the club must do what is best for its long term future. As for me personally, well, one door closes and all that.... |

Welcome to WOking FC feedback AKA Sadies dating services.
Anyway back to football, any chance we could sign Damian Batt as hes just been released by Stevenage and he had a good spell on loan with us. |

Lol! No thanks to the dating service - please let's stick to WFC matters! I'm sure Colin Lippiatt has already had his own thoughts and plans regarding Damian |

Precisely! Thank you Katie. Can we please refrain from subjects that are clearly not relevant to the Football Club on the official club website. Thanks folks. |

I must ask you sadie , are you single? ive been wanting to ask you out for a while but not knowing if you were with some one or even married! |

Reply:
Oh dear! While I am rather flattered, I really don't think this feedback function on the official Woking FC website is meant to be a 'dating' forum. Not the appropriate place for this. But in answer to your question, yes I am single. |

Thanks Hana. I shall miss you too - and all of the other Platinum Club members and Sponsors who I have got to know well over the years. I'll still be around as a supporter and may even grace the sponsor's lounge as a paying guest once in a while. So you'll still see me occasionally. |

I am officially still employed by the club, but actually on paid leave while various processes take place regarding redundancy and any handing over of work that is required. I fully support WFC and will always do what I can to help them out during this transition period - hence still answering feedback. That will be 'handed over' very soon. |

Yes Jon's commitment to the club is very commendable and he, along with all the other Directors, will continue to work hard to make the club a success in all areas, both on and off the pitch |

Nobody at the club would ever blame sadie for anything, they no what a good job she has done throughout her time there. sadie has no hard feelings, and knows such things do happen. so i dont see how you think the club blames her. |
|
Reply:
Yes these thinga happen and there's no blame from either party. |

You would resign if you were going to volunteer, oh please just because she got made redundant? lets hope the new volunteers (if any) dont take that attitude. i read something about flake making a suggestion. are you going to change you mind flake? hope not we need people with different ideas. |

At the end of the day, the club needs to run as a business and as with any business, it has overheads and costs that need to me met. If the current level of income doesn't cover the costs, then changes have to be made. That is the way, unfortunately |

I think this thing with sadie has gone ott, obviously the club had their reasons(which im sure we will get to hear about) being made redundant happens all the time! good luck to sadie what ever she decides to do but lets calm it down, i dont think the clubs going to fold with out her! |

Reply:
Very true John. There has not been an official announcement because there are processes that both parties have to go through before the position is finalised. And yes, people do get made redundant all the time - that's just life unfortunately. |

Woking FC by George

What is happening to the club i used to love, laying off staff to cut costs will not make much of a hole in the massive losses each season, what is happening down at Kingfield, how can we still be losing hundreds of thousands each season and only finish 17th, thats hardly Sadies fault is it, i dont know Sadie that well, only through the updates on Cardboard and on here, also through the programme, out of interest who exactly will be running the website, programme, sponsors lounge, press releases and countless other jobs Sadie may have filled, this loss will backfire on our club, just when we all thought about going forward, we seem to take a huge step backwards. I may never have met Sadie personally but she always seemed to relay the information quicker than the staff in the past. The programme was one of the best in the league, if not the best, now all her hard work may now be lost, its now 2 days since the announcement and not a word from our supposedly fan friendly chairman, or is he taking a back seat through the reaction from certain fans. Sadie will be a big loss to have around Kingfield matchdays and to not have anyone from the club thank her officially really goes to show how low they value their staff, if i was a volunteer who was writing articles for the programme i would certainly resign my role as a protest. Woking FC may want to be a community club, but treating staff members like this they have a long way to go. Thankyou Sadie for you hard work throughout you time here, us fans appreciate it even if the directors and chairman do not. |

Yes people will come up with their own conclusions, heres mine, the club are cutting back because the redevelopment will not be happening, thus meaning the club laying off full-time staff and solely relying on freebie staff, it works in some areas but interesting to see if it works in this area. I see storm clouds approaching Kingfield this summer.
While im on here, im very disappointed in the choice of friendlies this season, hardly thrilling are they!! and certainly not something i would be busting a gut to get too. |
