I spoke to Phil Gilchrist and Oli Bozanic after the game today. Phil told me ?we started well, had some good chances and were disappointed not to take one as I?d asked the boys to hit them early in the game. First half we gave away a sloppy goal and in games like this the first goal is all-important. We gave them it and then the second half was a bit of a non-event. The game was very dour and there wasn?t really a massive spark from either side and you could see that it was going to peter out to be 1-0. Unfortunately, with all the injuries we?ve got, I didn?t have a lot of scope to change things. Some of my senior players are out injured and my most senior player was also injured but was out on the pitch and refused to come off, though I can?t knock him for that. We?re down to the bare bones and have got to get some players back sooner rather than later.?
Oli Bozanic said that the game was ?very frustrating and disappointing for the boys. We had a great week?s preparation but got caught out a bit on their goal. It?s a very difficult situation with all the injuries but we?re looking forward to Tuesday night and we?ve got to get a win there.? I asked Oli about how he played himself. ?You can never be pleased with your own performance when you lose so I?m just looking forward to the next game. Heads were a little down at first in the dressing room but after that initial phase we know we have to just move on, put that in the past and start preparing for Tuesday.?
