Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 14/12/18

14th December 2018

Dowse's Friday Catch-Up | 14/12/18 Due to technical errors, Dowseís Catch-Up will not be posted in video form. Hereís the type up of the interview.

- Morning Dowse. Letís start with Saturdayís result, the levels certainly didnít drop following Swindon, did they?
"It was a good game, Weston werenít as I expected but that was down to our high pressing. They took points off Bath and Torquay as they were given the chance to play; we didnít allow them to do that. Iím delighted with the lads, itís all down to them."

- I believe you had an influence on the pricing structure for the Watford game, can you explain that a little bit more?
"I believe that the tickets shouldnít be too much higher than usual even if we would get the fans in anyway, as it would be unfair on them. When I said that to the board they agreed, theyíve been absolutely fantastic."

- A lot of fans have been saying theyíre surprised itís so lowÖ
"It just wouldnít be fair on them, theyíve supported the team up to this point fantastically and have helped us get here."

- Have you had any ticket requests?
"Iíve had 146, even from people I havenít talked to for ten years! I said to the players yesterday after training that if anyone comes up from nowhere asking for tickets theyíre not mates. Itís a special occasion for the club, our families and close friends so letís keep it that way."

- Speaking of players, I hear youíve brought in two?
"Yes and Iím speaking to a third today but I donít think heíll be available for Saturday. The first one is Noel Leighton, he started at Millwall but since his move to Dagenham hasnít got any game time because of the money they keep pumping in. He was really keen to come down and play for us and thatís only a good thing."
"The second is Aaron Eyoma. Young lad from Derby, he was also very keen to play and get going and will be living with his parents whilst heís down here with us. Heís short, direct and quick like Loza, who wonít be able to play tomorrow, so weíre looking forward to seeing him out there."

- Anything to say on the music video? The fans have surpassed the donation target.
"Hodgey has done a great job with that. The lads all loved doing it and itís for a great cause. We all sounded terrible, except Hodgey who really went for it! The fans have done brilliantly to reach the target. Weíve also started a food bank here in my office so any donations tomorrow at the game are welcome."

- We face Maidstone tomorrow, got anything to say about them?
"Well, they played a 3-5-2 last week with Wassmer and obviously both he and Loza canít play tomorrow so they might play 4 at the back again. Theyíve struggled for goals and thatís why they signed Jake Robinson, but heís Trophy tied. If we draw and it goes to a replay then weíre good on plastic pitches anyway, it should be a good match whatever happens. I, some of the staff and players are going to OíNeills in town after the match as theyíre a new sponsor. Itíd be good to see some of the supporters down there at the bar too, youíre all welcome."

- And lastly, itís the carol service on Monday at Jubilee Square.
"Credit to the lads who are taking the time off work to make it, Martin Tyler will be there too. It should be a great event and Iím looking forward to seeing the fans and our community there."
