Woking Football Club is pleased to announce the extension of Manager Darren Sarll’s contract.

Sarll was announced as Manager on 28th March 2022; his extended contract runs through to the end of the 2024/25 season.

“This announcement is one of the Club’s most important in recent years,” said Woking Chief Executive John Katz. “He’s been everything that Drew, me and the Board of Directors expected from the gaffer when we hired him 11 months ago. I couldn’t be more thrilled to continue to work together with Darren as we continue our push for a playoff spot and ultimately promotion in the coming years.

“Darren has recruited a team filled with character, with nearly 2,000 Football League appearances in the changing room to go along with his own experience in the Football League and in Premier League academies. Extending his contract now is a valuable recruiting boost as well, continuing to make Woking a place where players want to come and play.

“The Board shares my belief that to maintain – and to improve upon – the level of ambition and professionalism we and our supporters deserve, requires vision, a long-term plan and longer-term commitments to our best assets,“ added Katz.

Sarll, 40, has kept his side in the play-off places since a 1-3 win away to Gateshead on 22nd October 2022. Woking have remained in 3rd since a 0-2 win away to Scunthorpe United on 14th January 2023. Darren’s Cardinals also did the double over Aldershot Town this Festive Period for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

“I’m really delighted to have extended my stay at Woking,” said Manager Darren Sarll. “The last 11 months have been some of the most enjoyable in my career to date, and I’m really thriving on trying to produce a successful team here to emulate the days that have passed.

“The players, the staff, the supporters, the Board of Directors – most importantly John and Drew – have been so welcoming and very good to work with.

“We have a brilliant relationship that’s built on the foundations of regular, frequent, and honest conversation. These relationships have meant that we’ve been able to improve the professionalism of how we do pretty much everything at the football club, and they’ve supported those wishes throughout.

“I can’t thank them enough for the journey that we’ve started together, and I look forward to seeing this through over the next two-and-a-half-years, and hopefully longer,” added Sarll.
