Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Greg Taylor.
The defender, 33, will join the Cards from Cambridge United, on a deal through to the end of the 2023/24 season.
Taylor started his career at Northampton Town in 2008, aged 18, before moving on to Kettering Town in the then-Conference Premier in 2009. Across two seasons he made 45 league appearances before securing a move to Darlington in 2011, making a further 36 appearances in the division.
He joined Luton Town ahead of the 2012/13 season, making 36 further appearances in the division. Greg joined Cambridge United in the summer of 2013 and was ever-present in 2013/14 as the Us won promotion from the Conference Premier.
Taylor stayed at Cambridge for a further nine seasons, making 267 EFL appearances and winning promotion from League Two as captain in 2020/21. In 2022, he was honoured for his service to Cambridge with a testimonial against West Ham United.

“I’ve waited very patiently to recruit for this position, and I hope supporters can appreciate the magnitude of this addition,” said Manager Darren Sarll. “Greg has a wonderful reputation in league football and has successfully navigated through the National League and League Two with Cambridge - mostly as captain.
“Technically, he gives the squad a different balance as he is very comfortable on both feet. His character and resilience will add to an area that has been depleted since the end of the season and he adds so much to the wonderful central defenders already in the squad.
“Winners are hard to come by, and this is purely enough reason to celebrate a signing of Greg’s credentials. He has already shown many personal and professional qualities in these early days as a Woking player, and I am looking forward to you, our supporters, recognising his qualities soon,” Sarll added.
