The centre is a Joint venture between Woking Football Club, Surrey County Council and The Department for Education and Skills and is part of the ?Playing for Success? Programme which uses out of School hours learning to help raise attainment at Key Stages 2 and 3 in Literacy and Numeracy.
The Smart Cards Learning Zone will provide out of school hours-learning opportunities, primarily for 8-14 year olds from Woking and the surrounding area. It will contribute to the provision of extended services through Surrey Schools, in line with the five outcomes of Every Child Matters.
The new centre is superbly equipped with;

To reduce wear on the laptop keyboards and glide pads each pupil will have access to a computer workstation comprising a docking station, 17? flat screen monitor, mouse and key board.
The Centre manager Brian Hooper Woking?s former Olympic Pole Vaulter says,
?The Smart Cards Learning Zone will provide a stimulating and motivating learning environment that will help Woking?s young people to take ownership of their own learning and be involved in decision-making. As the facility is a new build, disabled access has been integrated to meet planning regulations. Suitable provision has also been made for hearing and visually impaired pupils.
Appropriate toilet facilities including disabled toilets are situated within the stand. Attention will be given to provision of healthy drinks, including water, and snacks, in line with Healthy School standards.?
